South Hill Running
Welcome to South Hill Running Club! We are a CO-ED track and field (T+F) and cross country (XC) team for athletes ages 7 -17 years old. We meet three times a week at various locations in South Hill, Puyallup, usually on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. We will practice rain or shine. The only time we do not practice is when thunder occurs or inclement weather.
During T+F Seasons we train in the 100M, 200M, 400M, 800M, and 1500M, (and 3000M for ages 11 and up). Field event include Long Jump and Turbo Javelin, (full Javelin for ages 15 and up). In the XC Seasons, athletes run more and longer miles along various terrains, (not on the track), and they compete in the distance based on their age, (as of Dec 31 of each year). Ages 8 and under run 2K, 9-10 run 3K, 11-12 run 3K, 13-14 run 4K, and 15 and up run 5K.
Required gear/equipment: comfortable running clothes and a good pair of running shoes. Please bring layers and rain gear for colder and rainy days. During the XC Seasons, a reflective vest and a head lamp are required.
SHR is affiliated with the USATF. A birth certificate, medical status, bylaws and medical release are required for each athlete. Most Invitationals occur on Saturdays, and may be all-day events. There will be a required USATF $35 membership fee that will be collected annually.

T+F Season I (Spring) 17 March - 2 May (PSD Spring Break week OFF)
T+F Season II (Summer) 5 May - 15 June T+F
Post Season (NO in-person practices) 17 June - 30 July (athletes progress to the next race if qualifying times are met)
XC Season I (Fall) 7 September - 12 October
XC Season II (Winter) 24 October - 7 December (Thanksgiving week OFF)
